I would yank my child out of there so quick. I struggle to afford daycare alone but I have him in one that is what I can afford and she takes amazing care of my son.

And start looking into state assistance for child care expenses as well.

Yeah I make 16,000 a year, and Montessori preschool would be 305 just for two weeks. I can afford it, but hats only cause I live with my parents... Otherwise it's way too much

Jade goes to a learning academy, we pay 165.00 a week, I started working 3 nights a week bartending to pay for it, since my husband is in school and had to go part time at his job...

eh, montessori isn't necessarily the best. they just have different curriculum than regular schools do.

i'd take her out of there and put her somewhere else.

I'm lucky that the daycares in my town are all roughly the same price. I'm very happy with my daughters day care (she only goes one day a week anyway) but my eldest goes to private school. We are only a one income household, and it's minimum wage. We cut back on other things. We do not have a savings at all. But I think the best investment I can make is in my childs education.

We can't afford the nice private schools here, but I despise most of the public schools. So, we homeschool. Not ideal for everyone, but I know she's going to get a fantastic education.

LO has been at the same daycare since he was 16 months and that daycare is 750 a month   Thank GOD she cut me a break since I am doing everything on my own, so I only pay $400 a month.

Thats the amount I would be able to make if I would go to work and around here that wouldn't pay for daycare and the travel expenses to get to work (would have to take extra out of my hubby's pay check to make it work for me to be working... I stay home with my kids for now until they are older... My son does go to one of the top public schools in the state and we will be paying for our daughter to go to preschool there next year... it's not easy to afford to pay for school with only one income BUT we started saving for here once we found out how much it was for our son to go to preschool so she will easily beable to go next fall...

Montessori offers scholarships, I'd look into that.

I know it differs by area and smaller towns may not have many options but I found an awesome preschool for my son, within my budget., It just took a lot of looking and a lot of patience.
Now he is in elementary school and while our home school is ok, there are better in the district. Petitioning for a transfer and driving the extra few miles/ day is the difference between him attending a 10 star school vs. a 7 star school.
I hope you can find a solution!

It seems that almost all daycares in my area are expensive. If you want a school with the name academy or private, you are going to pay over $200 a WEEK. I pay $170 and its a very cheap daycare..

My son is in the best daycare around.....its super expensive. I work full timea nd my husband works full time. Lucky for us, my parents help and his parents help so my son can afford to go to the school. If I had to put him in a smurffy daycare no offense, I just wouldnt put him in one at all.

Quoting Mama to J ♥:" Do you ever feel like a failure because you just cannot afford a good daycare or school for your child? ... [snip!] ... kids have the best? Its like you want them to have the best education but you just know that you cannot provide it.... "

That's a lousy feeling. Sorry that's how is is right now. Hopefully you will make more soon and can afford better pre-school or can afford to live in a district with good public schools.
I'm not sure how old your child is, but until close to 4, i dont think they need much academic focus, so dont get too worried about that right now.
Is there a home-based mom that you can pay? Have you looked into Care.com?
