Long periods?

So i have been having the weirdest thing happen. My periods vary. They can last 5-7 days or as long as 14 to 16 days. Do you think i should be worried? I already went to the OB and talked to them about it but they said its because im young (im 22) and that i shouldnt be worried. But i am. What would you do?

They can prescribe a medication to shorten your periods but really there's not much else you can do. My periods always last 7-10 days and occasionally they'll last up to 14. It's been "normal" for me ever since I started getting my period.

There's various things that can cause it. If your gyno wasn't worried then I wouldn't be either. If you had really bad cramps and some other abnormal symptoms, I'd say go see your doctor. It might just be a weird cycle.
