I think Lexapro is a SSRI. I didn't know about anxiety like that   nobody has explained it to me like that.

It helps me to think of it as an entirely physical condition. I don't blame myself. I know that it's not my fault, I just have a chemical imbalance.

Thank you for helping me realize it is a physical condition not just a sign of weakness! I knew depression is a chemical imbalance but not anxiety

Yep. It's all down to the chemical dopamine, which is also responsible for bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder.
