Flu & Autism?
posted 12th Nov
I saw on the news that women who get the flu while pregnant are more likely to have a child born with autism. Did anyone get the flu and had a child born with autism? I wonder how common that is.

Now I'm terrified. But I think I got sick while I was pregnant with ds and he is very healthy.

Oh dear lord... what will come out next? If I sneeze during pregnancy it will be linked to autism?

Every month there's a new reason behind autism.

Meh, I say that's false. They have no clue what causes Autism, actually. They say everything causes Autism these days.

I know it's so scary especially with winter coming up! I never got sick with any of my girls while pregnant and now I'm worrying about getting sick with this pregnancy.

That's the silliest thing I've heard in a while. I work in education with kids with severe autism and I don't see how the flu would cause it.

Hope not! I got one a month ago.

I don't think it means everyone who gets it will have a child with autism I think it's just a higher chance.

Its worse to worry ourselves tho. People do meth while pregnant and have healthy babies. Ihave been a little freaked about this pregnancy being a winter one, with ds I was pregnant spring and summer.

I have a friend who recently found out her son was autistic and she was sick all thought her pregnancy so as much as I don't want to believe it, i still can't help but naturally worry.

Yeah, it worries me a little, we all want healthy children. I honestly believe everything happens because its meant to, so I try not to stress Too much.
