What is your favorite affordable yarn to use? The yarn I get from Walmart just isn't soft   I usually make baby things do it needs to be soft

I use the Caron Simply Soft yarn... it's acrylic and it's soft not scratchy like, say... Red Heart is to me. It's relatively inexpensive and they have it at the WalMart around here.

The Caron Simply Soft.
I don't mind the RedHeart...I just wash my pieces 2ish times before I put them to use. The RedHeart actually softens quite nicely after a few washes.

Really? I always use the cheap stuff at walmart. It's always super rough until I finish my project and it always turns out so soft it feels like silk after it's been washed

Do you wash it after you make whatever you make? Somebody told me to wash it first and I ain't figured that out yet. Lmao

I make my piece and wash it on gentle and run it through the dryer on low.
If I washed it first, I'd have a tangled mess in my washer.

for babies?

No to vanna's choice. It's ok but not great.

The best is bernant satin, caron's simply soft, or red heart soft.

All super nice.

Joann's is your best bet. Michael's has a nice selection but usually high in prices.

Joann's you can get lots of coupons too.

I was going to suggest it too but didn't know if you had a phone that could get the app.

Are you going to try and make a blanket yourself then?

ETA: as well. That's my experience from making and selling baby stuff for over a year. The yarns I mentioned are the ones I get the most comments on for quality of yarn for babies.

I actually ordered from someone only because I know I couldn't get what I want done fast enough but I'm also going to start working on a couple things of my own because I miss making things

Even the vanna's choice is a bit rough to me.
