Uterine infection?

I'm 1 week and 1 day PP and I'm on my way to the doctor right now. My midwife is certain I have one. I'm kinda freaking about because I know nothing about this. What can they do? I'm also breastfeeding so I'm really concerned about that as well.

I had an infection this time, took some meds and it was all better   I was bf to.

I had a bunch of sharp pains, both in my crotch stitches and uterus. It was tender to the touch, and I had a fever. I felt all around icky.
