I have actually have an internet business  

But since I have to pay double the payroll taxes (once as the "employer" and once as an "employee") I'm thinking about dropping it. Not worth the work if the government is just going to take 50% of it.

Who knows, that's just how self-employment taxes work.

With a "normal" job, your boss or the owner pays half of the payroll taxes, so it doesn't seem like as much of as hit when you pay your half out of your paycheck.

Paying both is a bitch, though. It's nearly 15% just for payroll taxes when I file. That doesn't include federal, state, local, etc.
