re: Mother at 19...

Well best of luck! I couldn't do it at the age I'm at now (21), but if you can support two kids at nineteen, then more power to you!

I got pregnant with my 1st at 19. She was stillborn the day before my 20th birthday. My husband and I had planned to conceive though. 9 months after we lost our daughter, we decided to conceive again and had a son when I was 21. We were married and perfectly stable to have kids (still are), so when making our choice to concive, age didn't mean a thing to us.

How old are your kids, btw? Your son looks like he's around 4 or 5.

I meant whether you are 18 or 35 it doesn't determine the kind of mother you are.

I had my oldest at 18, and my youngest a little over a month after turning 20!
As long as your daughter is loved and cared for, then who cares what anyone has to say!!
I personally don't care. My girls always come first, they are my TOP priority, and very well taken care of, so anyone that knocks my parenting clearly hasn't watched my be a parent.

I think it does. I had my first at 17. I had the next one at 32. There was a HUGE difference in the kind of parent I was and the mental state I was in. Not to mention my ability to care for said child when I hadn't graduated high school and could not support myself.

Now, I own a home, have a college degree, stable family, etc. MUCH better for children now.

Hmm. Okay. I'm not going to argue you have a right to believe what you want.

I was 17 & a senior also. I had my son a few months before graduating. I'm now almost 22 & expecting a little girl. I know I'm a great mom & I wouldn't have it any other way

Well, this isn't going to make anyone think you're trying to get attention or anything.

Lots of moms are young. Everyone judges. it's a fact of life, get over it and move on with yours and stop caring what other people think. You'll probably never meet them again anyway.

I look like I'm 16, but I'm married and have a kid. People judge that smurf all the time because, that's what people do. They're definitely going to judge it more if you go up and are like "Guess what? I'm a young mom. I like it"

I completely agree that having an education and stable home is best. I don't support teen pregnancy but there are some 19 year old moms who work hard and are great moms. Then also you have some 32 year old mothers who go party all the time and put the kids on the back burner. I only was trying to say that young mom doesn't equal bad mom and vice versa.

It doesn't always, but statistics do prove that waiting until one is more mature is more beneficial to the child. You're right. 32 year old moms can be smurffy as well, but a young mother is more likely to be uneducated (for themselves and about their child), unable to provide, and unable to understand the gravity of the situation.... whereas a 32 year old would have much more life experience and understanding.

Well my opinion, there's a difference between looking like you're 16 & a mom than actually being 16 & a mom lol.
