Marathon runners

I am hoping to run a half marathon this spring, at this point, running a mile is hell. How would you suggest I build up my endurance? Any tips or tricks to get me to where I need to be?

It's an app for running. I believe it is a 10 week program. At the end of it you can run a 5k that is where I would start.


I also suggest even on your "off" days you at least walk briskly.

I just ran my 1st half in October. I couldn't even run a full 5k last year. Insanity mixed with running once to twice a week 3-5 miles is what I did. I also mix in lots of different types of races to mix things up. I've done mud runs, golf course race, 5k's, 10k's so I felt very ready for my Half. It also helped that I had a tiffany necklace waiting for me at the finishline

They have an App that trains for a 10k too, starts off just as slowly as the couch to 5k but gets you there in 14 weeks I think. If I remember right it's called 10k runner. Good luck! This is one of my goals as well!!
