My sons took about 2 weeks to fall off. And the reason they say not to use alcohol anymore is because it can kill the good bacteria needed for the healing process  

With our first 2 kids they told us to use alcohol preps to clean them and they fell off in about a week. Then with our last one who was born this past April, they said not to use alcohol and it took 3 weeks and yes it began to stink! It was so gross

I guess I was lucky, my sons never smelt, the only issue I had was it would get blood on his clothing.

10to 14 days or sooner

my babys fell off at 12 days. my nephews fell off at 4 days. My mum said mine didn't fall off till 17 days! lol. x
