You're clearly not paying attention since I am the one that EC's...I have a potty trained kid and an EC'd 8 month old.

It doesn't mean people are lazy for waiting until their child is mentally ready though. Have fun with the power struggles yet to come though.

How can you say "most" kids can do anything? There is no "most" as a rule of measurement. My 17 month old says about 5 words and none of them are potty. My 23 month old nephew says about 6 words and none of them are potty. Dont generalize what you've experienced with your enormous family. Your mother had 18 kids- great- she couldnt afford to diaper them for over a year and the older kids are there to help the younger kids learn faster. for only children- with working parents- its NOT laziness- it's reality. Dont put a timeline on anyone elses children but your own. My daughter is just fine at 17 months and a diaper, thank you very much.
