It's not abuse. If two consenting adults go in willingly it can be a very freeing (for lack of a better term) thing. Obviously you have to know what will be going on and how much the receiver can handle. BUT normally the Dom/Domme is NOT in control, the sub has all say. It's a special sort of relationship

Someone I know lives this lifestyle, and while some find it odd, I'm just glad she's happy after years of being miserable. It's not all about hitting/whipping & such, it's complex, but definitely not abuse.

Our relationship wasn't the whole dominant/submissive thing like most people think. But there were whips and other things with safe words. I could never be anyones submissive and I don't think I could be anyones dominant on a permanent basis. maybe during sex but that would be it.

You might be a natural "switch" (where you can be a Domme or sub). I'm naturally submissive but I'm also a switch so sometimes I'm the Domme
