Yeah, I'm a server and I'd rather you just stiff me. No sob story, no excuses. Expecially when you can come out to eat, where the person waiting on you may verrry well be a single parent!

My husbands a server and he prolly woulda gone out the door after her and reemed her out. She can spend that much on dinner but can't tip? Waiting tables is how hes supporting MY family and he depends on tips.....stupid bitch

I read that a few weeks ago. The tip was probably left in cash and because the person who paid didn't fill out the tip area, the server probably wrote it in to get their 15 minutes of fame. The writing does not match at all. Not to mention I highly doubt a person would spend that much on a meal then write they are a single parent :/

The only time I would find it ok to stiff your server is when he/she is a complete jerk; terrible service, bitchy etc. Even then, I tip like a buck to show them how smurffy they actually were.

This may not be a real one, but I know for a fact smurf like that does happen, often.
