when to give milk after vomiting?

LO is 2 1/2 and for the first time ever he threw up last night =( im talking puke! It was a huge mess everywhere(kitchen and living room floor, couch, table, walls, both of us) we dont know what caused it, im assuming something he ate (no fever, hes acting fine)

today he has been fine, he says his belly is ok but he said that last night to. All he ate today was some bananas and toast he wouldnt eat diner but i didnt push it.

All day i've only been giving him water, but do u think its ok to give him some milk b4 bed? Hes been asking for it but where he didnt eat idk if hes belly would be up to it?

I'm not used to this at all, i was a panicy mess last night lol so any help would be appreciated

I am going through the exact same thing. The on call nurse I spoke to a few hours ago said absolutely no dairy for the first 24 hours.

I wouldn't do Dairy until tomorrow - at least.

Have you thought about trying pedialyte rather than water?

Why no milk? I would think it would be good cuz it coats the stomach and neutralizes the acids?

hes been peeing normal and clear, so im not worried about him being dehydrated

my nurse told me that for diarrhea but idk about vomit?
i know for me milk is the last thing i want wen my stomach is upset

I'm a milk junkie lol. When ever my stomach hurts I always down a glass of milk immediatly and typically always feel better immediatly.

Sorry to be gross but when you have a fever and a stomach bug dairy curdles in your stomach, and you throw it back up. Plus it makes you poo. Lol
