plus sizes for kids

posted 11th Nov
My kids are not obese or anything. They've always been big for their ages and thick, like muscle-y not rolly. My son is 50lbs and 44in tall and is 4. Right now I have him in size 5/6 pants. They fit him almost perfect length wise (maybe an inch too long) but when he puts them on he has to suck it in haha. I feel like I have to squeeze him into his pants and I know that's not comfortable. Same with my 5 year old daughter. She's 60lbs and 47in tall. I have her in a 7 pant, perfect length wise but too tight. Are there any stores that make plus size pants? Or husky sizes? I buy adjustable waist pants now but they are still too tight when all the way undone.

Thank you! I'll have to check there. It seems like every place I've checked only has adjustable waist

It's annoying. It's easy to find "slim" clothes but not husky

Old Navy runs really large already, and they sell "plus sizes" on top of that.

Have you thought about taking them to a nutritionist? Or a doctor? Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm kind of shocked.

Their doctor isn't worried about them. My daughter has always been above 97% on the growth chart for both height about weight so they aren't worried because she is proportionate. My son has been about 80-85% on the growth chart for both height and weight as well.

Wow. Never heard of doctors saying stuff like that. BMI chart marks both as obese.
Good luck, I guess. You must have some kind of Amazon genes in there!

Which bmi chart are you using? The pediatric one I used said my daughter was 18.3, risk of becoming overweight. My son's was 16.8, healthy weight.
