It's all depending on the situation really.. they usually place in a family who is ready to foster unless there is family close by.

Yea thats what I figured they would do, I live in Cali but I offered to help if they would rather the baby be with family then with strangers.

The foster care system that the child is in would have to get in contact with the system in your state. The system in your state would have to do a background check and a home study and then you'd have to go through the courts and everything. But for now, the child would most likely be placed in a shelter/group home/foster family in the same state/county.

At least that's how it works in FL.

Talk with the foster care place, they don't want to traumatize a child more by already hurting them more. Hopefully everything works out

I'm really not positive about that. My friend just got custody of her little brother because he was being taken away from their mom, but that's in the same city.. I don't know if they would place with family in another state.

well this is texas foster care system.
Most of the family are either unstable for cant take the baby for a long period of time. I'd like the baby to stay with stable family in TX so she can be near her mommy, but I also want her to have a stable home she is only 3 months so she still very much needs constant attention and undivided attention. I hope they can find this for her. The mother was thinking of signing temp custody of baby until feb when she turns 18 to my cousin, but her bf has a open case about his daughter so baby cant live in same house as him.
