Undermining Mother

So after last night's drama with my mom, I decided I wouldnt go back to her house with my kids. She just called DD and told her my sister was coming to pick her up.   What am I suppose to say to that? I think my mom totally forgot who the parent was her.

Then I get a call from DS who is over at my mom's house already (because he stayed with my sister last night), that he cut his head. He was crying and mom said he has blood gushing down his face. Well, yeah...you know, that is why I am always onto him about being rowdy. At home, we enforce the play calmly in the house rule. Rough play is for outside. At my mom's house, they get to run wild through the house, screaming and acting like animals. DS jumped on the counter top and hit his head on the bottom of the cabinet which resulted in a laceration to his head.

My mom...irritates the snot out of me!

I'm sorry! I think you need to put your foot down. Tell your mother, calmly, that these are YOUR children and that you expect for rules to be followed.

Let her know that she needs to respect your position and rules.
Ask her, how would she would feel and what she would have done if another person went against her rules and wishes with her kids?
I don't know a single mother who would put up with that...even from her own mother. If my family went against my wishes, my children would not be visiting until they learn to respect my wishes and rules.
