MRSA

posted 11th Nov
My boyfriend tested positive for MRSA when he was admitted into the hospital. Shouldn't me and the kids get tested for it??
Everything has been so crazy that I didn't even think of it, and now I'm freaking out really hard. My daughter gets abscesses on her legs, and what they look like in the beginning, the boys have some places on their butt/legs.   I'm scared and feel like a bad mother

Don't be. Just go clean/sanitize EVERYTHING! Take them in, too. Friend of mine just went through this twice and her boys are doing fine now.

It's everywhere. It's in hospitals, clinics, schools, daycares, ect. Heck you can get it from touching a cart at Wal-Mart. I would talk with your pedi since your kids have been having "pimples" which can be filled with MRSA. Don't blame your boyfriend. MRSA sucks balls but it's not his not his fault or something he asked for. He can be treated for it along with the rest of your family. GL

I know, it's just one of those things that happen to him. This is the second time this year he's been in the hospital (unrelated) ! I joke that I'm toxic to him.

I'm going to call the pedi and tell him the deal.
To even take these kids anywhere I have to call my mom and arrange for someone to get the van from the local hospital, bring it here, load up the kids, and then get driven to wherever I'm told to go.
It's going to be stressful if he says to bring them in today, but I guess I'd better go ahead and find out for sure before I stress too much.

This. A lot of us probably have it in our nares. Heck, I'm sure I do, because I'm exposed to it every day.

staff lives on every one's skin. MRSA is just a strain that can only be treated by ONE antibiotic. What I posted above is the infirmation the disease specialist gave me for my family.

For 1/2 a tub full use 1/4 cup of bleach and for a full tun it is 1/3 I think? Also, llysol spray will kill the mrsa virus so spray anything and everything you can.
