Well thats harsh. It takes a lot for them to actually fire somebody at my job

I also work at a nursing/assisted living home & we don't get paid time & a half either for holidays. That's strange

That blows.   DH worked at Walmart for less than three months and it was the longest smurfing three months of my life. They're awful.

Is cool to shop there but def not the place to work for.

Shooooo. I'd be pissed. Because I work at a gas station, we're open every holiday.

BUT. My manager is awesome and EVERYONE (minus two people... because, well, that's how many people are usually off every day) has to work 5 hours minimum on Thanksgiving and Christmas day. And.... since I'm now assistant manager, I get to work 4am-noon on those days   So I get the rest of the holiday day. At least that's how she told me she was doing it. -fingers crossed-

I don't think it's right for them to cut his hours during the week, so that the time and a half doesn't really mean anything   Honestly... I'd tell him to call off. Totally not worth it. Save some money from these next few checks, so you can have some money for the time he didn't work on Thanksgiving.

It is strange. They had cut out raises for a while to.

I've always gotten time & a half on holidays at other jobs. But we only have 10 employees or so
