re: Kidney stone diet RANT

I just put up with the stones. They've become easier to pass. I pass at least one a month. I can pass decent sized ones without too much pain. I'm in pain and get nauseous but I can make it. Now, every once in awhile I'll have a monster or one that has some kind of hellacious hook on it that tears me a new one.

Mine are calcium oxalate, but they discovered that I do not absorb calcium right, its some kind of metabolic disorder. They gave me water pills and potassium chloride (when I was 18, I don't take it anymore).

Have you tried dandelion tea? I've heard it helps.

Yeah I tried it. What happened for a long time they are thinking is that my 7mm was stuck for months and months in my bladder/kidney area but kept switching positions and so when they finally found it, it was so low they did nothing. Well, I had these horrible spasms and finally it came out in a toilet at my school lol. I was not able to catch it because it was automatic but basically, all my weird bladder spasms stopped that day. I am wondering if a stone was stuck and caused my bladder to be effected and then it caused more stones to form...thus leading to a continuation of issues.
They know for a fact I had bladder stones for a long while though. I was suffering from bladder spasms for so long....8-9 months straight(with what they thought were stones in between) before I was diagnosed...Idk maybe I wont get anymore stones? though, I have had so many now lol.

Ugh, its all so confusing. I hope this made sense ha.

To you mamas with stones. I just looked up reviews on that multi-vitamin and it has awesome results and has great clinical studies that proved it works. I guess it binds with the stone and prevents it from growing.
Might be worth looking into! :] I wasnt going to try it because I am weird about drugs but now upon reading more I will give it a try. I guess I will try and update if you guys want!
I hope it works.

That sucks! My last kidney stone ER trip involved a stone about 5 mm but it had this massive hook on it. Thought I was going to die! The ER nurse was being a bitch to me and I wanted to kick him in his testicles. He told me to calm down and breathe (left a random failed iv needle in my hand and took his sweet ass time giving me any pain meds). I wanted to show him breathe. They sent me home to pass it. My family doctor was always surprised when I would show up with a container of stones and nonchalantly mention that I passed these in the last couple of weeks (pregnancy intensified them). He's eyes would get big and ask if it hurt at all. lol I was like, yeah but it really isn't that big a deal anymore. I don't know if my ureters are bigger or what because of it.

We had a dog that had bladder stones that had to be surgically removed. I can't imagine having those!

bladder stones are like pure hell for months lol. I went on undiagnosed for like a year. It was just painful when I would pee and they kept misdiagnosing me with smurf and kept giving me antibiotics. I refused to keep taking them and explained something else was wrong. FINALLY they listened when I had a stone in August 1st....did a cat scan and BAM 3 stones. 7mm, 3mm and a 1mm.
Then I put off the urologist and passed my 3... until now here I am lol. Vitamins and a dietary change I could do. Imuna do what I can :]

Imuna try that time release vitamin first with a ton of water and lemon juice. See if that helps. There are also some herbs at whole foods I can try.

Sorry about your ER visit! Its sounds like my trip during my 7mm! The nurses were ASS holes and kept missing my vains. I kept throwing up and the doctor refused to give me pain meds until he "examined me"! I was like "SmUrf YOU" haha. Finally hours later they shot me up with morphine and sent me home and I passed out lol. Woke up the next day feeling amazing XD.
I was on percocette to and it did nothing. Stones are horrible man! I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy :[...

Interesting! Usually I just get Vicoden which takes the edge off. As long as I can go without throwing up I can tolerate the pain. My last one I can't believe didn't hurt worse! On my phone so can't do the image.

The throwing up is horrible. The hospital gave me anti-nausea medication for the stones and I have hydro-morphone(dilaudid) but honestly..no pain medicine really does THAT much. It just makes me less angry haha.
