Sometimes I wish he'd feed himself, but then he's only 7 months so he's only been getting food for a month and 2 days lol (got it the day he turned 6 months because his doctor said to add it since he was losing weight). I mean he can eat crackers, toast, and SOMETIMES cereal or puffs himself. But mostly he still just eats purees thickened with oatmeal. He hates how runny they are but he gets soooooo excited by his food, he chokes. And then when he self feeds, drops most of it lol

I must be thinking of someone else. I thought it was your son who was the same age as mine.

Quoting kate♥[j&a]:"
There's no need to make up an excuse to feed my child how I want to feed her.

And my sister does have a blood disorder. Anemia I think. The meds she was taking for her iron messed her stomach up to wear she can't hold anything down and absorb nutrients. She quit taking the iron meds and now goes every 2 weeks to get iron meds through an IV. I would never make up a horrible story like that. That's not the kind of person I am."

You really don't get it do you? Anemia is a secondary diagnosis. I have a blood disorder called Spherocytosis. It rendered me severely anemic. I was blood transfusion dependent for over 2 years! So as I said before, not only do I know about blood conditions via education I know from experience.

I am getting a little preturbed at all this. There are steps that have to be done prior to her getting iron via IV. They don't just say "Ok, here is your iv" and done. There are precautions that have to be in place because it high risk for allergy and anaphylaxis. I am also not exactly sure what "messed up" means with her stomach. There are plenty of side effects that are normal with oral iron. Cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation... Those are the mmost common. I have never heard of a stomach being so "messed up" that a person or child has wasted away. I also have NEVER heard of a hospital turning away a patient because they have an appt in a few weeks or whatever the situation was. There is some serious BS in this story. Exagerations? Covers? Either way, it makes no sense at all. Too many holes and what not.

If you are telling the truth on your sister, I will state heavily again to have her blood drawn and sent to the Mayo Clinic. Children aren't just severly anemic to that degree "just because". Adults aren't that anemic without reason either. Especially that it has caused her to lose that much weight. Also, there is a step that should have happened at the hospital that you are missing based on what you are describing of her condition.

Regardless, nobody will ever be able to educate you on something because you know it all and everyone else is stupid.

Well her name is Liliana but I call her Lily for short.   Aww, what are you doing to name the little girl you are pregnant with?

Funny thing I didn't know about until AFTER I named DD is that her Sperm donor's sister is named Liliana haha. I thought her name was Jasmine because she goes by Jasmine but I guess that is her middle name.

I have a question for you. I have a blood disorder which is a platelet aggregation abnormality meaning I make the correct amount of platelets but out of the 5 functions ( I think that is how many) only a few of them work properly. So I bleed easily and my blood takes forever to clot. Well I have random bouts of anemia, some times when they check my blood I am anemic and other times I am fine, would my blood issue cause that?

Pronounced lily auna? Or Anna? But my daughter will be Karmen. Which I am very happy with finally finding a name. Both my SO and son are B names and her and I are K names. So that's also cool. I was thinking like Lillian. or Lilly-Ann. But Karmen is good too.

Seriously. You don't know the situation. Stop pretending you do. I couldn't care less whether you believe me or not. Your nothing to me and I don't owe you any explanations. And you certainly can't educate me on anything especially when you don't know what your talking about or what's going on with my family. So take all you rude comments and accusations and shove it.

Well, your issue is a platelet related. That typically doesn't coincide with anemia. Anemia is really a lack of healthy red blood cells to carry the oxygen to the body. We can all border anemic from time to time. Especially as women around our "monthly". Unless the Dr is concerned about your anemia I would chalk it up to typical iron dips. Typically, they don't get concerned with anemia until your level is below 12 (that is supposed to be the bottom number). With me, they would transfuse me if I got to 10 or lower. I hold steady at 12-13 now that my spleen has been removed. I haven't been transfused in just a little over a year now. I just take folic acid and an iron supplement. Spherocytosis is actually where the blood cells are formed like little balls and not like the concave doughnuts. They aren't "flexible" to get around the bends in the vessels and arteries. They rupture quickly and when I had my spleen they were absorbed almost as fast as I made them. The average person regenerates their rbc at 1% daily. I was regenerating at 11% daily. When you are pregnant do they put you on coumadin?

Yeah, pretty much expected this reply. It is right along the lines of a person who's platform has fallen out from beneath them.
