Damn straight, put those solids in a bottle!

So what we did was got the oatmeal not rice. They also have whole wheat oatmeal. And mixed it with the formula then we would add fruit or veggie baby food. I then would put actual cut up fruit at this age. My son was eating on his own for the most part at 9mo. Of finger foods. but it never went in his bottle.

Why are you doing it in her bottle? Was this suggested by your doctor? Is she that under weight? Or is it something else?

Not always. Rory HAS to have it. Even breastfeeding every 1-2 hours around the clock, he was still losing weight. It was either switch to formula, or start solids at 6 months. He'd dropped from like 50% to 3% for his weight in 2 months.

Same here with my 8 month.old.

OP if she is not interested in eating it then she most likely doesn't even need it...unless your Pediatrician says other wise.

Yet you still give her non-nutritious rice in her bottle? My DD has no stomach issues. Mashed potatoes are fine and green beans and chicken they puree for baby food.

My daughter didn't eat any solids until 14 months old. I always said I wouldn't give it to her until 12 months but then I was in the hospital when she turned one so I wanted to be there when she had it for the first time so I didn't come home until 14 months. I see baby cereal as pointless

No. You don't actually have to stop it until they are eating more solid foods. I gave my kids oatmeal not rice. I stopped baby cereal at about a year.

I meant in general. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule but in general without a medical need.

You do realize how ridiculous you sound with your post above this one right? And why in creation are you putting it in her bottle if she will take a spoon?

She's had a slow weight gain problem. I add the cereal in her diet for extra calories.
