Isn't that a wonderful feeling!?!?! I had the twins uber involved during my pregnancy with my son. They were 25 months old when he was born, still today 2 1/2 years later, he is their baby and they protect him. One of my girls was insistant in changing his diaper. lol She did it a few times with help. lol

Addison too!! She's helped quite a few times. She would always talk to him in my belly and would get so excited when he'd kick. She is just so good with him and loves him so much, sometimes it almost makes me cry. Sometimes she's helpful to the point of being aggravating, so I just have to watch my patience. When he was brand new I hurt her feeling a couple times about how overly helpful she was being, and that made me feel bad.   So we just had to pay more attention to how we talked to her.

That is hard. I actually had to start giving the girls "jobs" to help with. I nursed so when he was hungry I would ask one of them to get me a burp rag or a blanket (you know the thin swaddle ones). I would ask the other one to grab my boppy if I wanted it or maybe go get my water bottle. Then I would over praise when they helped on things I asked for. When they were "helping" on their own, since they were 2, a distraction was easy. I would send them off looking for something. lol

Oh gosh! That's pretty much what we do!! lol When I'm nursing Asher, I'll ask her to find me something, or put something up for me, then she'll come and sit with me and hold his hand or something while he's nursing. She loves being with him when she gets home from PreK.

Love it!!! I hear so many stories about sibling jealousy. It is really refreshing to hear another momma who's older child loves the new one.

And we would hear the same things..we got so tired of people telling us she would be jealous of him.

I watched my friends son behave that way when they had a baby. I was hell bent that my girls wouldn't behave the way her son did and still does 4 years later!!! I think that by involving them and letting them help pick out a few things and pump them up to be big sisters.

That's exactly how we thought. We let her pick out clothes for him, help pick out his nursery bedding...we involved her in as much as we could and she loved helping us.

That is such the smart way to go. My girls got to make their first "build a bear" when I was pregnant with my son. They decided on their own that he needed one too. So they picked him a mokey and we named him "munch". lol I think that parents who take the time to understand the workings of a child's mind and needs, have more success with new additions.

And that's so cute! lol Addison picked him out a frog actually the day I went into labor. We went to walmart that day and labor hit that night, but she said she wanted to find him a frog before we even went to Walmart because he would like frogs. lol

That is way too cute!!!! I did the kids bathrooms in ducks and bought my son duckie jammies, towels ect.... Turns out my daughter new better than I did. lol The little guy has a monkey obsession now. lol
