This may or may not have had anything to do with labor starting but on Wednesday July 25th me and SO had sex.
My water broke and I went into labor at 4:30 AM the morning of Thursday July 26th 2012. When my water broke It felt like I was peeing so that's what thought was happening so I went down to the bathroom but it would not stop so then I knew it had to be my water.
We went to the emergency room and I got admitted into the hospital at 5 AM. I was 2 cm dilated.
I was in hard labor for 8 1/2 hours! I was in so much pain. I had to wait for an hour for the anastesiologist to get in to give me the epidural. Then at 12:50 PM I finally got the epidural and man did it work fast! I couldn't really feel any pain after that. Then at about 2:00 PM I was 9 cm dilated. Shortly after that I was ready to deliver. I was in delivery for 3 hours - this little lady did not want to be born! After about 2 hours of pushing with nothing happening there was a suggestion to sit up more. The doctor said we could try it but if nothing happened within an hour I would have to have a C-Setion so the nurses sat me up a little more (work with gravity not against it ya know lol.) About an hour later she was born.
At my last prenatal appointment the doctor said my cervix was up high so I might have to have a C-Section but I got lucky and was able to give birth to her vaginally (which is what I wanted!) After that I was very, very tired. We had a few visitors the next day and night (Friday July 27) and on Saturday the 28th we got to leave the hospital!
What was hilarious that I didn't know I was doing during labor and delivery was that the father almost lost his hand. I was in so much pain that I was squeezing his hand so hard that his knuckles were turning white and he could hear cracking.
Oh well serves him right! He better watch out because he might lose his hand next time!
