ok so the other day my DD crawled out of her crib for the first time. She's three so I expected it. We have a bed and the crib still in her room. Now instead of laying her down in the crib I lay her down on the bed. She is not happy about this at all. The problem is that her room is down stairs. I put of hoop lock on the outside bc I dont know what else to do.

Locking her door from the outside is illegal. You need to just stay downstairs until she's fully asleep, keep putting her back into her bed every time she wakes up and waking up before her. I'd also invest in some monitors.

Then you can't fall asleep until she does and you wake up before her, like I said. You can't just lock her in the room.....

Take the lock off, @3 she should know better than to get into anything also, the lock is a safety risk.. If my kid got into something @ that age, they would get a spanking. However until you feel comfortable you can put her toddler bed in your room. Take the crib down. But at 3 she is fine to be in her own room, no crib, no locks. Just lock the front and back doors, put a gate up to the kitchen and keep your door open at night. (basically childproof the house...doors, windows, kitchen ect.)

It wouldn't matter whether it was a camera or not, really.. as long as you could hear what she's doing. Is it possible to get her room on the same level of the house that you're on? If she's going out of her room, downstairs, unattended, that could end up dangerous.

shes had a lot of sleeping problems. It took me a year and a half to get her to sleep on her own all night in the crib. She doesnt like sleeping with me and seemed to like sleeping in the crib more than a bed.

You should have put a stop to it a yr ago, she was/is big enough to sleep in a big girl bed, take the crib down, for starters.

There is no room for anything in my room. the only way I can get her to sleep with me is if shes completly already knocked out. Even then it doesnt work sometimes.
