Finally decided on a boy name!

posted 10th Nov
I am 26 weeks along with my 2nd child, My husband and I have been trying to agree on a name for the last 2 months before we even knew we were having a boy. Our taste in names could not be more different so coming to an agreement is huge!!! Our baby boy's name is Daemon Aubrey, I love his name but some people might not, like my mother. She couldn't hide her feelings when I told her, It was like I told her I was going to name him Adolf Hitler. I got on the defensive and told her I don't care what anyone thinks, my husband and I love his name and it's final. Why is it that I refrain from saying hurtful things to her but she can't do the same?

I don't like the spelling. Damon Aubrey is nice, the e seems unnecessary.
Aubrey on a boy makes me happy!

When I read "Daemon" I see Demon. No offense. Damon Aubrey would be great!

But just brush it off. People are going to have their own opinions.

All that matters is that you like it   Nobody else's opinion should matter.

Don't worry, my mom is the SAME way. She's always like, "pleases rethink your name decision", blah, blah. I'm to the point that I don't care, it's MY baby, I'll name him what I want.

I was told that Damon or Damien mean son of Satan, but I googled it and it said the meaning was "to tame". So idk! If you aren't religious it isn't really a big deal.

I love Daemon with or without the "e", Aubrey is my grandfathers name and if I was having another girl Aubrey would be her first name   It's just much easier to take if people close to me would care enough about my feelings to hide there own...does she expect me to change his name because she's disapointed I didn't chose a name she liked? My husband and I are a little weird, we like that our Daughter is Angelina and her Brother is Daemon, it's a cute juxtaposition to us. I'm going to try not to let negetive opinions bother me because I love his name and I feel he will too as he grows up

Thank you for your opinions, now ya'll have me contemplating th "E" lol It might be a good thing to drop it so people throughout his life will be less likely to mis-spell his name....hmmmm. I've already wrote it in the Baby book though!! lol

Love the name. Spell it however you want. If it makes you happy then go for it. I was criticized for naming my daughter Amberlen Quinn. They wanted to know why I just didn't name her Amber Lynn. I didn't name her Amber Lynn b/c her name is Amberlen Quinn. What you want is all that matters... Go w/your heart, hon..
