The brown color is the actual color of ground beef. They put a red dye to make it look more appealing

No, they do dye it. They dye a lot of stuff that you don't realize.

The beef is altered to make it look red. If it were not chemically treated it would brown from the outside in from oxidizing and age. It's essentially hormones put into the beef, which I'm not a fan of. My step mom was telling me it's the reason why so many boys and girls hit puberty at 8 and 9 now. Doesn't surprise me.
