If your child asked you this...

What would you have said?

So I am using the bathroom and Elly, my 5 yr old, comes in and looks at me and says...

Elly: "Mommy, why are you wearing a diaper for?" (yeah its my pad)

Me: "Elly,........ just go play so I can finish."

But what would you have said? lol, Noting came to my mind, so I told her to go play.

I would have said it's called a pad and because I'm on my period.

i would have said its not a diaper its special underwear mommies have to wear sometimes- or something along those lines

I would have told her it's a pad and I would have explained what a period is

The truth lol

My kids think I get a boo boo once a month. LOL DH came up with that answer. I have a boo boo.

tell her to go play if she continued asking i would just tell her that when you are big you get a period and have to wear a diaper sometimes

She asked me that when she was like 3 and I just told her we need them when we get older.

This it's best to be honest

So? It's a period, it's a part of life. She might as well learn about it from you. That's actually a really good learning opportunity instead of waiting until she's getting hers and sitting her down at the table and making it all awkward.

I would have told her that adult women wear them sometimes? No big deal.

My boy came barging in on me once when he was young. I just told him its something mommies have to do sometimes and hed understand when he got older. He let it drop but still called them mommy diapers...lol

The truth. God forbid you tell your kids the truth and properly educate them on the human body. So sinful to be truthful.
