Quoting MommaNoodle:" lol, maybe a little bit. in my 5th grade, nobody had it yet. "

In my school, when I was in 6th grade there was a girl who already was a mother   but I think she was like 1-2 grades behind. Kids were really mean to her, though she was a very kind, caring person and I never thought anything other than "My grandma would beat the living life out of me!"

Then I got pregnant at 15 with my 1st in 9th grade    , ALL those talks I got starting at age 8, about period, sex, boys, etc and well, guess it all went out the door when I met DH at 14. I was such a careless idiot with my DH......but that's another story, lol

I would have told her th etruth it was a pad and on your period and if they asked why whats that and all that jazz I would have told them straight up. My kids are 4 and 10 and know what a period is and pads tampons etc....why girls get them etc....

I got mine at the end of 4th grade. And I'll be prepping my SON too because some kids, mostly boys, made fun when I had blood on my pants.

It was pretty sucky, but i managed to hide the worst and distract him by getting him to dig to the bottom of my purse for baby wipes (with his back to me) while I wiped and then I flushed while sitting, etc, so he really only realized I was bleeding like a period---but I was so glad he knew a little about periods and such before that experience. He took not remarkably well---probably because he didn't know I was pregnant. He's known I've miscarried before (it happens a lot) and he dealt well with it, but never been IN the room until then.

I just answer his questions as we go. He knows babies come out of vaginas and that it hurts when it happens, but it gets better when the baby was out, etc. we just answer truthfully and with just enough detail to help him understand without confusing him

my two year old asked so i told her. if they always know what it is growing up its WAY less awkward than having to sit down and have "a talk".

I caught my son opening a bunch of my tampons expecting to find candy (if only...) when I asked him not to play with mommy's things in the bathroom he asked me what they were. Long story short. He thinks mommies get nosebleeds from their private parts. But he also knows that mommy gets sick when she gets her private parts nosebleeds. I am starting to realize just how much of an oddball I am. I got my first period at 8 years old in the third grade. I had no idea what was wrong with me and was too embarrassed and scared to ask anyone. My body is extremely screwwed up now as a result. I have excruciatingly painful periods that knock me on my ass for a week at a time. I have a considerably high tolerance for pain and my period has me doubled over, crying and vomiting they hurt so bad. I get cold sweats, the shakes, and diarrhea. I've fainted several times and have been hospitalized a few times to help manage the pain and keep me from dehydrating. Once DH and I are done having kids I'm getting a hysterectomy so I don't have to live with this anymore. It's been 18 years so far. I can't take very many more.

There is no right or wrong way to answer the questions about a pad. Just answer in whatever way you feel most comfortable. It's not always easy to think of the perfect thing to say when you're caught off guard and with your pants down...literally lol. She has time to learn these things. You have time to think about how you want to explain it to her too.

My 5year olds has known about periods for a while. She also knows how baby's come out, that it hurts and you bleed like a period after. When she asks I tell her. My family tells her the truth about this stuff too. She also learned the difference between boys and girls and saw a penis when her brother was born. I wasn't going to hide it from her every time I changed him lol.

Oh no I don't hide the truth at all, I'm not like that( DS is 4 1/2 months and she sees him and knows boys have a penis and girls have a vagina), she just really caught me off guard so all I said was to go play PLUS I was having a BM( had a stomach ache ) so was in no mood to have a chat, lol

Mine have actually gotten worse with age and having kids. I was told that after having my first baby they would get better but they never did. On top of that I haven't been able to sneeze without a ripping feeling inside of me. My LO even imitates me sneezing with a "choo-OW!". I'm waiting to hear from a doctor about it.

My oldest will be 7 on Dec 3rd. It was an emergency section and while the Dr. that did it saved our lives he had massive hands and one of the nurses said there was some tearing in the hurry. I've had problems with my scar as well, which goes hip to hip. I even herniated through the scar in 2 places when pregnant with my LO. I had a second section in March of last year but it was planned, my scar was a third of the size and I healed much faster with not even a quarter of the pain.
