hcg diet

posted 10th Nov
This post is for my roommate. She's been doing the hcg diet with her dad and it's been working really well on her. However she had sex with her boyfriend and the condom broke, and her period is a month late, and the test says positive. However is this because of the hcg diet or because she's actually pregnant, we have no idea.

So I was wondering your opinion on the hcg diet. Do you think it would result in a positive pregnancy test when you're not pregnant? She's taking the hcg drops that you put behind your tongue. TIA!

It is possible that it's a false positive because of the diet. Which you should tell her is NOT safe. I don't know if she's researched it but she should.

The hcg test will give you a positive test. tell her to stop using the hcg for 48 hours and then test and it should be accurate.

There's a few differing medical opinions on whether or not it can cause a false positive. So I went the safe route and said it's possible, but she needs to get a blood test done.

LOL now that I have no idea. hahah. but I have read that if you get pregnant on that diet you have an increased chance of having multiples 0_0

I assume if an hpt is positive it would be positive in the bloodstream too. But they would be able to tell if she's at like 30 hcg where she should be at 180 hcg, whether its the diet or an actual baby

Not entirely correct. They'd be able to tell the difference. It also depends on which hcg supplement they're taking. Some of them are not processed the same, so there's no way it would show pregnant. There are a slim few that would show in a urine test. So she probably IS pregnant and needs a blood test to be sure.

She went to the doctor and he wouldn't give her a blood test   so she'll have to book an appointment with a ob-gyn and they'll see her when she's 10 weeks. Either that or go to an emergency medical clinic for a blood test. Here you need a prescription for a blood test.

Eww, that's crazy. So she basically has to wait until she knows for sure. Or probably pay a lot of money to get one at another place. Poor girl, I'd go nuts.

I've heard the drops won't give you a false positive.
But injections do.
But I don't know for sure.
Hopefully she finds out soon! Good luck
