I have been having contractions off and on since 36 weeks. At my last appt I was 2 cm. The last few days the contractions have been coming more frequently but still not close enough to go to the hospital.

I feel your pain. mine aren't frequent enough to be active labor only early labor because they will be 3min then 1 min then go to 6 min then 8 min then just keep getting further apart. Ive been told to not have intercourse but my nurse told me starting this sunday to use evening prim rose vaginally. its suppose to act the same way as semen but Im not sure if ill try that yet. I feel like DD is playing tricks on me :/

right. but there is no way know unless you try.

with my last baby i was deff NOT contracting or anything until after we sex. it literally started my contractions just minutes after. i deliverd my baby about 12 hours after sex...was in active labor for maybe an hour.. my conctractions were really irregular..

with my first i was in fact, have irregular contractions i couldnt feel and they said id proabbly be back to L&D that night, and sure enough, 25 minutes of nipple stimulation made my water break all over.

Medical induction doesn't always work. And is more dangerous than most people think.

OP, I would recommend waiting. You can try and plan a labor, but you can't really PLAN a labor if you know what I mean. Babies don't work well with schedules. Maybe your body will hold out till your mom gets back? Do you have other support in case she can't be there?

Personally I had a great experience with castor oil. Who knows if my body was "ready.". No one can tell you if you are ready, not even a doctor. I simply FELT ready and my inner voice was speaking to me telling my to do it.

Agree with the first sentence.. and really.. what is so harmful about TRYING. Worst case scenario, you waste a couple of useless hours of life. Plug in a breast pump and watch a movie, OP.
