Period and weird clot(TMI) Is this normal?

posted 9th Nov
I didn't get my period last month. I wasn't pregnant though. I've been having some problems for a while now like lots of pain and heavy bleeding. Lately I've been noticing more blood clots with my period. I'm on the pill to help the bleeding and the pain. My doctor doesn't exactly know what's causing the pain but now they're leaning more toward endometriosis than anything else. I have a few cysts but they're not a size that they really worry about.

Yesterday I got my period. It's been painful but not the worse cramps I've ever had. I notices that there were some bigger clots yesterday after I took my tampon out. One was just a little smaller than a quarter.

I just took my tampon out a little while ago. There actually wasn't much blood. I did notice a really odd looking clot though. It was like a dark fleshy color. This might sound gross but I wiped the blood off and it looked like skin and even the texture was skin-like. It was about an inch and a half long and maybe a half inch wide. Does this sound normalish?

I'm not sure what to say..but for the past couple months I've had a period like this..clots and all.
It's weird.
But my period started last night and it was horrible in the morning but not so bad as the day went on

Stop using tampons. Tampons hold the blood up to the cervix and that can help develop clots as well as cause them to "fuse" (for a lack of better words) together. If you want a clear assesment of what your period is doing, use pads. It will give you a much better idea.

I used to get pretty hefty clots once in a while and extremely painful periods. I do have endometriosis. I have already had the initial laproscopy for the proper diagnosis and removal. It is back. I am on the depo shot until January when they remove my uterus. My case is a tad extreme. It isn't so much the endometriosis that is getting me the partial hysto, it is a combination of that and a blood disorder.

I can't wear pads. They irritate me so bad and I usually get a horrible rash.

Get the new Always brand. I have issues with pads as well and these are the only ones to not give me a rash. Matter of fact, they are so thin I don't even know they are there. There are also "natural" types of pads you can use. I personally wouldn't use them but that is just me. If you want an accurate assesment of your period and clots, the tampon is not the way to go.

I wasn't really trying to assess my period. I know blood clots are normal so I never really give them any thought. But this wasn't blood and it's the first time anything like that's ever happened. And ever since it happen, my period stopped. But I'll try those pads next time I have my period because I've never had actual skin come out.

It looked like a blood clot but it was lighter. It caught my eye when I took my tampon out. I took a tissue and looked at it and it was skin-like. I stretched like skin and everything.

I missed that. That is odd. Mucous can be thick like that. I think I might just watch for other "oddities" and for sure bring it up with your OBGYN.

It wasn't mucus. I pulled it apart and it was like pulling apart like meat. It was gross. I think I should call my OB/GYN Monday. I was supposed to call if I didn't get my period again because they were afraid too much of my lining was building up. I was also getting some infections. I thought it went away but a few days ago I got this pain like a hot knife was stabbing my uterus.

Endometriosis wouldn't have that "skin" like discharge like you described. Not like meat. Now, mucous with coagulated blood can have a different texture and apperance. Especially since you use tampons. The tampon will absorb any moisture to the "clot" (for lack of better words since I didn't see it and well...)

Please do call. I hope you get to feeling better!
