getting another 2nd trimester u/s??

I went in for my anatomy u/s at 18 weeks. I'm now 20 weeks. Today I got a call from my OB office saying that they wanted to let me know that radiology would be calling me to set up an other u/s appointment, but the lady wouldn't tell me why   She said I would have to ask my doctor that when I go in. Well my appointment isnt until the 21st, so I was just wondering if this has happend to anyone else? Also does anyone has some insight as to why I would need another one? So far I have had a normal healthy pregnancy.

i had this happen to me. i went in, they couldnt get all the pictures they needed so called me back. now i am going for a level 2 ultrasound because they still couldnt see her heart that well

I would call your dr they should be telling you why not just leaving you wondering. I would make an appt first thing that's quite a while to wait shame on them

If they were only looking for the gender on your 18 week one, they may be wanting another one to just check the healthiness of your baby. Just check all the limbs and body parts to make sure they're developing correctly. I had an elective gender u/s at 17 weeks, but my midwife said that she could recommend me get another one in a couple of weeks for all of what I just mentioned.  

is it for anatomy??..I know they did a gender and then anatomy around 20wks.

This happened to me when I was pregnant with my daughter. They didn't see all the chambers of her heart so they brought me in for another ultrasound. The nurse wouldn't tell me why, I found out at my appointment.

Due to the way my child was positioned and not cooperating with the technician, I had a total of 4 ultrasounds just to see his face and see the layers of his brain. I wouldn't worry too much.

I went yesterday at 19 1/2 weeks for my gender ultrasound and my placenta was low plus they couldnt see everything on the baby they need so they are sending me back in three weeks. dr said nothing to really worry about, just consider it a bonus U/S Best of Luck

They told me last minute on friday that I needed a level 2 ultrasound because I didn't take the quad test. I didn't expect it...maybe they need more measurements.

A level 2 ultra sound is anatomy.. She said it was a gender u/s that's why I'm wondering if they easured anything and if not that's why they want her back..

My paper work didn't say anatomy. It was to measure the baby...

Hmmm I'm pretty sure that's what anatomy is.. I'm also going for a level 2 u/s he said it's for anatomy to measure baby and look at his heart etc..I have already had an anatomy but they want to do another one bc I'm measuring big.

Yeah sorry, I should've said anatomy scan, not gender. I will change it in a second. They took all the pictures of her heart, spine, limbs ect, then at the very end told me she is a girl.
