Breast Milk is salty or bitter tasting.

So i still nurse my 3 year old son. I am finally starting to get him off the boob.. lol. he mostly ate at night anyways but i cut him off. Anywyas its been a about a week if not 2 since he as nursed, the other morning it went to eat some and i still had milk and he said "ewwww" I tasted it and it tasted salty or bitter. Is this normal.? Any one been thru this or have an idea as to what s going on?

I've read that it is a normal change for breastmilk during weaning. I haven't experienced it though.

Weaning milk. It starts getting salty when they haven't nursed for awhile, so they don't want it when they go back.

That is what happened to my milk when I got pregnant with my 2nd. I was still nursing my first and he self weaned when I was 5 months pregnant or so and DH tasted my milk and said it was salty.

My milk went bitter when i got pregnant with number 2. That is why my daughter weaned. She gagged on it once then never tried to nurse again. She was 11 1/2 months
