That's what I was thinking. I don't agree with Mitt Romney, but I've never wanted him dead. I never will. No matter what our differences in opinion, he is a human being with a family who loves him, and he has the right to believe what he wants, just as I have the right to disagree.

I think Cold Stone reacted appropriately.

Maybe the investigation by the Secret Service will open her eyes... though I don't think it will make her smarter.   lol

I don't think someone should be fired from there job for speaking their mind. No matter how dumb of a statement. If she isn't in a field that that would matter or saying something about someone at her job they shouldn't fire her.

It might not seem right, but she is a representative of Cold Stone, and what she says/does reflects both positively and negatively on them- especially if she has posted pictures of herself in her uniform, and has Cold Stone listed as her place of work on facebook/twitter.

It may be freedom of speech, but at the same time it's "at will employment". And employer can terminate a employee for any reason as long as it isn't against the law. CS didn't break any law by firing her.

Sure, she has the freedom to say it. But the store owner should also have the freedom to voice his opinion - that it isn't ok to say stuff like that.

I wouldn't want one of my employees going around saying stuff like that. Bad for business.

I think CS acted appropriately. I have my own opinions, but I also know to keep them to myself and not display my judgments all over a social media website.

The Secret Service investigation is warranted because she technically committed a crime. She may not have been aware that she was doing so, but ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Ok was just curious. Didnt know how that worked. I wasn't sticking up for her. I would have let her go also. I hear freedom of speech all the time, I didn't know if she can fight it for that reason. Honestly dont think she is a mean racist person. She is young and dumb and let her emotions get the best of her. She now has learned her lesson

I really don't think she has learned her lesson since she said she doesn't think she did anything wrong.
