When did you install your car seat?

I'm 35 weeks and wondering when everyone put the babies car seat in the car?

I'm planning on 36 weeks because that's the next car seat clinic in town.

If you have an opportunity to have it checked out by an expert before the baby is born, then I would take full advantage of that

When leaving the hospital.

My husband installed it right before we came home from the hospital with my son. If you get into a car accident (even if it's just a fender-bender), you have to replace the whole seat.

I took it to the fire station and had them put it in around 32 weeks I think. I was induced unexpectedly at 36 weeks, so I'm glad I did.

Not until baby was here and we were ready to leave the hospital.

Like 3 days after we came home from the hospital. Lol

I think I'll get it installed at 35-36 weeks because I'm overly paranoid, lol.

That's what the car seat clinic is for  
The city I live in hosts one monthly at the for department.

At 36 weeks.

Both times was probably around the 38 week mark. I remember with our first, we got it installed and just a few days later I had her. We only kept the base in for our second because it was in for like a week (forever in third trimester time haha) and the car seat was getting in the way of everything.

That being said, I would totally suggest you going and getting it checked if it's your first baby. If that's next week, DO IT!

Lol! My husband thinks 36 weeks is too early but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

How did you get baby home?

Op, we put it in when we were getting ready to leave for the hospital.

My carseat didnt come with a base. So when we left the hospital, with dd in it lol. How did you leave with lo if your carseat wasnt installed? I know someone who didnt own a car, and the nurses made them go buy a carseat and find a ride, instead of walking with the baby in the atroller.

With my two oldest we always installed them around 38-39 weeks . With my last kid we had it installed just after 35 weeks and i'm glad since I ended up having him at 36 weeks.
