we couldnt find out the gender

I was up two weeks ago for my 20 week scan and too try and find out what sex my baby was I was so excited when we got there but the baby had its legs crossed and was laying with its back to us and we were informed the placenta was too the front, i have heard when this happens the nurse is supposed to get you to move around and lay different ways but no my nurse simply said that we would have to wait to our 36 week scan to find out i was so disappointed and also quite annoyed when i heard this my friend went up today and her baby was laying the same way and she had a doctor and he told her to come back in two weeks time as they couldn't take measurements properly obviously not annoyed at my friend but annoyed at the nurse who done my scan as i feel she didn't put any effort into trying to find out for us has this happened to any one else??

Hasn't happened to me, but I would call your OB and explain that you would like to get another scan before 36 weeks. Have you thought about going to a private ultrasound place?

I think baby's measurements are far more important than finding out the gender so I can understand why your friends is in two weeks and you have to wait longer sorry

Taking babies measurements is more important that finding out the gender. Sorry.   Maybe go pay for an ultrasound?

It hasn't happened to me but I'm sorry. Maybe you could pay for an elective 3D scan?

At my 20 week scan with this baby the legs were crossed and the tech tried everything she could to get them to open but baby refused. She didn't schedule me another ultrasound she told me to talk to my OB about an in office ultrasound. So I asked my OB and she did an ultrasound at her office and we found out we are having a girl. If I were you I'd talk to my OB about it. You could always go and pay to have an ultrasound done also. Good luck  

with my son his legs were crossed and folded! but the tech did get me to walk around the room to move hm around!!! sorry but at least you will get another scan. they didnt give me anymore after that one. if you dont want to wait you can go to a private place and just have a gender check.

yeah i have looked into it but it costs 240 i cant afford that i am on a tight budget at the moment i am up too see my midwife in 3 weeks time i will maybe just explain to her that i was not happy about the way it was done

Yeah of course the baby's measurements are way more important but i don't see how they got the right measurements from my baby when they were laying the exact same way

Of course the baby's measurements are way more important as long as my baby's healthy i don't mind but i just don't get how they could have got the right measurements from me when our baby's were laying the exact same way tbh i don't think the girl had a clue what she was doing, i have looked into a private one already it would cost me 240 i cant afford that

This is going to sound really stupid but whats a OB?? I have an appointment with my midwife in 3 weeks time so i am going to say to her to see if she can help, i cant afford to pay for one as its 240 pound and i am on a tight budget at the moment

An OB is the doctor that will deliver my baby. I bet your midwife will work with you and figure something out.

Yeah i have heard a lot of people say that they were asked to lay on their sides and walk around for a while but i wasn't asked to do none of this   i felt like she did not put in the effort at all. Yeah i am having another one at 36 weeks that's not until February feels like so long away and its not long until i am due after that i have looked into going to a private place but it costs 240 pound that is way outta my budget
