DD is on a bath boycott.

I don't understand this child.
She is not allowed to watch TV or have anything treat wise until she takes a bath. I told her bath or nap... she chose nap.
I could spend HOURS in the bath, my parents had to kick me out of the bath.
I offer for her to take a shower with me nope.

Anytime I force her to take a bath she SCREAMS, so SO and I have to hold her down to get her washed. She then proceeds to SCREAM until her hair is brushed. She wants to take a bath at my moms but I cant do that EVERY time she needs a bath.
I wanted to go shopping and have a mommy daughter day, planned on leaving by 10 am it is now 11:20.

Stubborn Child. Argh.

Who else has a child that boycotts baths? What do you do?

I can never understand why kids hate baths. I always loved them lol

Have you tried making it fun?...

Eg, bubbles, colouring soap.. one mama on here suggested buying glow sticks & at night snapping them so they light up & throw them in the bath.

Surely that'd work?!

We do bubbles, have tons of bath toys, I guess I will pick up some of the color tabs from walmart next time I go, forgot about those... This has just happened in the last couple months, she just hates it.

DD randomly started hated taking baths. It was getting dangerous because she wouldn't stay sitting down and was thrashing everywhere. We figured out that she is afraid of the shower doors in our new house. We now take baths with her and everything is fine.

If our tub wasn't so small/shallow I would take a bath at least once a week like I did at our old place.
She also hates the lake and swimming pool so maybe she is just one of those kids. ugh.

Never had too much of a fuss about it here that a TV ban couldn't fix  . I don't understand it either, though. Tons of kids are like that.

We have a tiny shallow tub I don't think there would be room for DD if I took a bath with her.

Of course last night I said "Do you want to take a bath tonight or in the morning?"
We woke up at 8, she said she would after breakfast, she said she would after her apple. I said no sweets for/after lunch. No TV. Bath or you go lay down? She laid down and is sleeping now, so I assume she needed it but this child is going to start stinking. lol.

The only issue I have is my oldest wont take a bath or shower unless someone is with her, and she is 10. She loves showers and baths but wont take a bath if the door is closed and wont shower downstairs by herself unless someone stands outside of the shower or her 4 yr old sister goes with her, she has gotten alot better lately tho. lol shehas been showering on her own every morning before school.

But my middle is 4 and loves them.

Just keep at it, I couldnt deal with that at all. My kids shower/bath every day no matter what. I would hold her down in there and get her all washed up. But maybe get some different size cups to play with in there or some rubber duckies that squirt water etc......Or go in with her? How old?

I tried holding her down then my bathroom is soaked and I need SO's help most of the time, so I figured I would try the No tv approach... not working. She is 3 and a half. she has a bunch of rubber duckie type things (Octopus, Whales, Squids, Starfish.) She has a cup.

IDK then. lol maybe force her into the shower with you. lol I used to put my oldest in the shower and hold the glass door shut on her, lol she eventually got over it. lol

I would suggest maybe doing something super messy like painting etc...and then seeing if she will go in the bath, but if it backfires then you have a really messy child. lol
