Rental Vent

So I have been renting my place for about 2 years now. It was my grandmothers place before she passed away. It's in my aunt and uncles name. Well these so called "family members" seen to not really give a smurf about us. Well I pay $750 in rent which does include utilities. We did have a roomate whom was never home who paid just 550 for his room. It did inlude cable too, but we decided to switch it into our name so that it was one less bill they had to worry about. Well our rent didnt go down even with less bills for them. My roomate is moving out, and they needed a favor for a guy they are helping. They asked if it were okay for him to stay in that room while their kid and grandkids come down during the holidays. I said as long as it's temporary that's fine cause frankly Im over having roomates. My family wants us to take over the place, but itll be a year or so before we can try and get the morgage in our name. Well we are finally going to discuss things tomorrow and find out how much the mortgage is and how much does utilities usually run. Then Im going to try and see if we can put the utilities in our name and just pay what the mortgage is. Instead of them trying to charge us 550 for another smurfing room. If they don't accept looks like we'll be on the house hunt!

Do you know what the mortgage costs them?

Nope they've been pretty secretive about it. I don't know what anything is running. But I do know they ARE not paying 1000 for a damn trailer.

Is 1000.00 what they want from you? I don't know what renting is like there, but I know here you are lucky to find anything that is not an apartment for anything under 1000.00 so that doesn't seem so bad to me.

Well seeing as you can rent a nice house for $1,000 for a mobile home that is alot.

They charge us 750 and im sure they are going to want 550 for the other room. That's 1300 for the mobile home.

Wow, well yea then it makes no sense for you to stay there. I wish prices were like that when we still rented.. cheapest rent i ever had was 950.00 and that's because I was renting one of my parents properties, which was very small.

Haha, you can make gross money living here though. My boyfriend has no post secondary schooling, or trade schooling of any kind, and he brings in between 6-10k a month. Gotta love the oilfield. You thought alberta was pretty?   .. Maybe I don't see it because I have lived here my whole life.. but I just find it plain and unappealing! Lots of field..   . B.C. is where all the pretty is at, but their economy is smurf, and I would never live there. I know a chiropractor who lies in the lower mainland and is broke.. and has to borrow money from her parents.. wtf! lol.

We rent a 4 bedroom home with two baths, garage and huge back yard for 800 a month... 1300 is pretty expensive for a damn trailor. Uh.
