leap frog tag reader?

posted 9th Nov
who has it? is it worth it? how old is/was your kid when you got it.?
i'm considering getting it for my 4 year old. i'm not interested in getting my kids a leap pad anytime soon. i don't think a 4 year old needs to spend all their time on a leap pad. maybe when she's 7 and knows how to take care of it..

but yeah, what about the tag readers?

My boys both have them and love them... I would just suggest getting rechargables for them... My sons were 3 and 5 when they got them and they still get books for them for holidays and get excited :-)

my daughter was 4 when she got hers and she loved it and still does. easy to use and easy to set up. plus there is more that you can do with it then read, some books have games that you can play and i think it definitely helped her learn to read. i got mine as a bundle (it came with the case, 2 books and the pen and usb cord) from the leapster website. i have a 3 year old now and she uses it too.. plus its not a battery hog. i think it takes 2 aaa batteries and i rarely have to change them

definitely worth it!

i saw one in stores the other day for kids like 1-3. and then one for kids 4 and up (can't remember the age exactly)

but i'm wondering if i should get my 2 year old one? or if i just need to wait until she older? i really want to get my 4 year old one, but i don't want to make my 2 year old feel left out. since she LOVES to read. i just don't know if she's old enough to have one just yet?

i would wait and see how interested your 2 year old is in it and then maybe get her one for her birthday...

Tag JR is good for the younger age and very easy to use... I don't think two is too young for Tag JR

my youngest's bday is before christmas and my oldest's bday. so she is the first to get presents. haha i was considering getting the tag JR for her for her bday. and the regular tag for my oldest for her birthday. or maybe do them both for christmas? so they get them at the same time?

idk. haha

I would get the Tag JR for your 2 year old. I got for my son for Christmas last year when he was 22 months old and he figured it out right away. He still loves it and gets excited about new books.
