annoying racism posts

im black.. and i have this black friend on facebook, who i dont delete because she is a long time friend of my family
but every day she posts something about how racism is still alive and how we need to get up and take what is ours because white wont give us what they owe us....

backwards racism is still racism.... acting like you are BETTER because you are black.. IS STILL RACISM... ... as most everyone knows... i have a white baby and a white husband, and im tired of people not realizing... white people owe us nothing... it is our jobs to get up and get it ourselves.... YES racism still exists.. but only because we ENOURAGE it.... with our noses up in the air pretending like white put us through so much....
news flash people ... I was not a slave..YOU were not a slave....your neighbor was not a slave owner.....

i believe that we should do as much as possible to prevent racism, without causing more of it in the process

affirmative action- i dont want a job because im black and you need to fill a slot...

i turned down a college scholarship because the only reason they wanted me was that i was black and they didnt have enough blacks in the theater program....

i dont want my son growing up in a world were black skin means you feel entitled to something
and since he is half black and half white.. i dont want him to grow up resenting either side of his heritage......

If you really don't wanna delete her you could always just unsubscribe from her posts so you won't see them.  

Unsubscribe and live your life. I have a friend who does this too but the one time I said something to her she flipped the smurf and called me a racist and bigot because I'm white and got sick of hearing the "truth".

OMG I so totally agree! My hometown there were alot of people that would pull the racism card all the time... It wasn't because the person they were talking to was being racist, it was because they were being stupid!!! They can't realize that it's fine to dislike someone because of their attitude, it doesn't make them a racist. I'm half white and half hispanic, and I know people of every single race that I dislike and it has nothing to do with their skin tone.

Hide her posts. That way you can still be friends with her but not have to see the bullsmurf. I did this with a girl after she posted about her 3rd abortion.  
Unfortunately, a lot of people have her mentality and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I'm so happy that someone else sees it that way! I would counter her attacks every time. I'm white/Cherokee/Indian. I'm technically a part of the Cherokee nation because my grandfather is part Cherokee lol I don't run around like that either. I hate righteous ANYTHING, especially racist righteous people. Slavery ended 150 something years ago.. That's way too many generations to say white people owe you something because 150+ years ago your ancestors were slaves. That is definitely backwards. We today have never enslaved a race.. I don't get the "reasoning" behind people like this.

I agree with this 100%. Maybe if more people felt this way, there would be less racism in the world. Too bad more people could not let the color of someone's skin blind them to things.

And in fact, I agree that anyone who constantly points the finger and blames another race for ALL of their problems is going about trying to fix racism is the wrong way. But no one I know that speaks openly about racism does so because they feel they are "entitled" to anything. Unless you believe that wanting to be treated as an equal is entitlement.
