Late Labor Story lol

posted 9th Nov
So my son is 5 months old now, so it took me a while to finally type this out

I was induced at 1am when I was 40 weeks. They just started me off on a very low dose of pitocin because I was already having contractions. After a while SO decided he was going to go outside and smoke and I said that was fine because nothing was really happening. I was contracting, but nothing too painful. I was half way asleep and I heard/felt the loudest popping noise that actually made me jump! I was just kind of like "tha smurf was that?" So I lay there for a minute and then felt something trickling out of me..then I was like "oh smurf..my water just broke". It was only 2:40am and I hit the call button and they asked if I needed something and I was like "Um, yeah I think my water just broke" And so they sent my nurse in and she was like "so what's going on?" And I told her "I think my water broke. (then felt more leaking and said) Yeah my water definitely broke"...and she acted like she didn't believe me and like I had no idea what I was talking about lol. I guess they didn't expect it to break so soon or that they would have to break it for me. Anyway I tried texting SO to let him know what was going on. He walks in the room like nothing happened and I'm just like "hunny did you get my text?" and he said no and pulled out his phone and read the text and was like "oh smurf!" lol. So he helped me up and I went to the bathroom..had to pee and poop..just lovely lol. So the contractions started picking up and getting absolutely horrible. I was walking a tiny bit and then most of the time I had the best raised up just enough for me to lean over on it and sway my hips back and forth through the contractions. They finally were so bad that I literally couldn't handle it anymore. I opted for the epi. I was so relieved when I finally got the epi..but I couldn't even sleep because I was shaking so horrible bad...apparently a side effect. Like I literally couldn't hold on or touch anything because of how bad I was shaking. So after a while I started feeling the contractions again and a ton of pressure on my tail bone. They checked me a few times and then decided that they needed to turn the epi off so I could feel when I needed to push and I had to be on my hands and knees because he needed to turn (he was "sunny side up" lol). Well after THREE hours of doing that and being in horrible pain again since the epi was no longer on and I could feel everything again they were still trying to have me wait. Well they checked me and then left the room again. By this time I flipping back and forth and can't hold still because of all the pain and pressure. SO is kind of lost and not knowing what to do lol. I was at a 10, but they still wanted me to wait because he wasn't completely in the correct position yet. Well, my body decided it wasn't waiting. It started pushing by itself and I literally had no control over it..WORST PAIN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Not even kidding, that was worse than the entire time I was in labor lol. I told SO to go get a nurse and I was freaking out and he kind of froze and was like "What do I do?!" and I screamed "GO GET A NURSE!!! AHHHHHH" lol. So he ran out into the hallway as I'm screaming and he got them and they came running in. Well when I started pushing my son kicked me in my ribs and I literally thought he broke them. It felt like my rib was stabbing through my skin every time I pushed. I tried to tell them I couldn't do it because every time I would push it seriously felt like it was stabbing through my skin! I finally said smurf it and just did it anyway. SO was watching (even though he said he wouldn't) and the first thing he said when he saw his head was "He has brown hair babe!" and had the biggest smile on his face. The reason why is because he is a blonde, my oldest son is a blonde, and I have dark brown hair..so I was hoping for a baby with brown hair and he always said it was impossible lol. Anyway I kept pushing and pushing and he finally came out! The pain instantly went away and I couldn't stop smiling and laughing because he was finally here  . My midwife kept saying "My goodness I knew he was going to be big, but I didn't imagine this big!" And I'm like "oh smurf how much does he weigh?" But they were busy doing other things and I asked like 50 times how much he weighed lol. Finally they told me 10.05lbs and 21 1/2 inches long! I about fainted lol. He was a very big and chunky and healthy baby. And the best part? I only had minimal 1st degree tearing..only like 2 stitches  . And she removed a mole for me that I had down in that area for like my whole life lol. Anyway, that is my story  ..Here are pictures
