re: Breastfeeding baby - yay or nay

I guess I didn't read it that way at all. A lot of children play with baby dolls and I have never heard anyone say they'd prefer them not to because they don't want them to worry about taking care of it.

I honestly don't think kids worry about their baby dolls well being. I'd love my dolls like no tomorrow and then chuck them across the room the next second.

This has been posted a million times..

I'd let any of my kids pretend to breastfeed their dolls. But, I wouldn't buy the actual breastfeeding doll.. I am cheap. lol

I wouldn't mind. They can pretend to bf a doll whether it's made as a bfing doll or not. We actually throw away the bottles that come with dolls anyway. We talk about how babies get boobah from their moms and when they go to a babysitter or someone else they get a bottle. My DD has never really played with babies. She has no interest. But when she does she doesn't feed them she just carried them around.

Any particular reason why? Cost? The whole idea of the doll? Find it offensive? Don't let dd have dolls?

When you breastfeed, you're doing it for a purpose. They can "feed" through their shirt, but not lifting their smurf up in public. They're too innocent and they don't know those parts are private. Playing pretend isn't the same as having an actual reason to have to take your breast out.

This was in our local newspaper today. My grandma thought it was weird and gross.   But I thought it was awesome. I don't think I would buy it for my DD though.

For reals. I think it's a little creepy there's a doll specifically for that. (Then again, I find any doll that talks creepy, too. lol)

Oh I agree with you. I'd never let my little girl lift her shirt up in public. I thought you were saying she couldn't pretend feed while out in public.

I wouldnt say I find it offensive. I do not think it is approraite for MY daughter to play with. Now if I went to a friends and her daughter was playing with one..I wouldn't be ewww gross I am leaving.

What is inappropriate concerning your daughter, but not anyone else's? Not judging, just honestly curious.
