Thanks all!! My labor started to pick up around 12:30pm after walking for an hour or so. By 1:30pm they were every 3 minutes and really strong. I had initially decided not to get an epidural but by 3:00pm I was dying for one. I had to take an entire bag of fluids before they would call the anesthesiologist so that took a good 30 minutes
By the time he came in and did my epidural it was about 4:15, the process of getting the epidural took forever it seemed... and then
it did not work at all. I never went numb, my contractions never dulled down, so he wanted to re-do it (this was at 4:45pm), I said "no thanks"... well my midwife checked me after all that and I was 7 centimeters!! I felt like it wouldn't be long. Well it wasn't even 15 minutes later I told my hubby to get the nurse ASAP, my body was pushing on it's own, I couldn't control my urge to push.. She came in at 5:05 checked me told me it was time (like I didn't know that!) I gave my first hard push and she was crowning, after another long push her head was out but I had to stop pushing (which was terribly hard), her cord was double wrapped around her neck and my midwife had to cut it off right then and there.. that was scary!! Well after that I pushed 2 more hard, long pushes and at 5:12pm my baby girl was born <3 7lb 6oz 20" long!! She had some bruising on her face from the rapid delivery and from the cord being wrapped but besides that shes absolutely perfect!! Ohh and I busted every blood vessel in my face, eyes, and upper shoulders
I looked rough!! lol
