Antidepressants...

I started taking mine for PPD about five days ago. And ever since then I have the most screwed up sleep and nightmares, is that normal? The first night I woke up and I'd taken off my pajama bottoms in my sleep and put them on the floor... Then a couple of times I have woken up with scratch marks all over my chest. Then last night I had the most upsetting vivid dream that I was actually pregnant with twins and one had died inside me, woke up pretty much bawling. It's driving me mad!

What time of day are you taking them? And which one are you taking?

I took zoloft for my PPD and that smurf made me crazy. Nightmares, hot sweats, mood swings...I stopped taking it...

amitriptyline and just before bed because that's what my doctor said to do

It says it can make things worse before they get better so I guess I should stick it out a bit longer, but I might need someone to strap me down at night!

maybe...I was never told that haha I was no longer depressed I was either super happy or angry, slamming doors and smurf lol it made me bipolar!

Oh damn   well yeah my dr says it can take up to two weeks to start working

I would maybe ask to be put on an SSRI? I was on citalopram then sertraline while |I was pregnant and I'm going to be going back on sertraline.. they didn't really make me crazy but since you're struggling with a tricyclic it might be worth looking into.
