My husband says I am a bitch all the time. Vaguely, but not kidding and not meanly. Sometimes it isn't derogatory. Sometimes it means you are a survivor.

So...basically I mean...If a women is acting like a bitch towards her DH/SO..it's okay for him to call her a bitch?

No. Not in a nasty way. Your spouse is supposed to be your best friend. The one you love more than anything. Saying something hurtful like that isn't ever justified, imo.

I guess I should clarify my thoughts...


Is she really being nasty for no reason? My coworker calls his wife a bitch, and she is being nasty, but she has post partum depression . I think he should rally behind her and be more understanding.

Yes, IMO.

My husband has called me a bitch twice, well told me I was acting like a bitch twice in the 5 years we've been together. And guess what? Both times I was acting like a bitch.

I'm pretty sure I've deserved it more than twice, though.  

I think if you're being one, you should handle being called one. If you don't want to be called a bitch, don't act like one.

I was raised 2 wrongs dont' make a right. Yes.. I think being a bitch is as bad as being called one. But.. that does NOT mean it's ok to be one.. OR to call her one.

ALso... every couple has deal breaker situations. I do NOT tolerate name calling. I'm ok with calmly being told I'm being smurffy...NOT to being called a bitch. I don't want to be a bitch to someone Im with..and woudl rather the opportunity to calm down first before it gets to that point

My husband doesn't call me a bitch if I'm being one... But he does say something like, "Stop bitching!" We do call eachother bitch playfully though lol

Only if it's in private? I would not tolerate my husband saying something like, "you're being a bitch." or "Stop smurfing bitching." in public.

My SO calls me a bitch all the time, usually because I am being one at the time, but only because he pushes me to that point. I think its ok, as long as he doesnt call me a bitch when im not being one.
