Cervadil??

Ok so today my dr told me he wants me to come in on tuesday to use cervadil (sp)? and also scheduled my induction for thursday.. wat is cervadil for?

Cervadil is to start the induction process i believe

soften your cervix some times it will send u into labor... it did nothing for me did not soften my cervix did not dilate me nothing at all.

To soften your cervix .

It's supposed to ripen your cervix but didn't do diddly squat for me.

Worked for me.

It's something they use to induce you.

Why didnt you ask him??? These are questions you should write down and ask your ob. Its supposed to help soften and dilate you, and pitocin will be used to get your contractions going.

Softens your cervix. Didnt work for me

i wasnt feeling very good today so it didnt occur to me to ask while i was there

The evil pitocin.

i personally didnt mind the pitocin.. ive never been able to go into labor on my own so i guess i just dnt the difference.. it didnt seem soo horrible to me like everyone says :/

Oh so cervadil and stuff is just to help dilate your cervix and if it doesn't work they just go straight to pitocin? I am supposed to get that on the 13th then in the morning on the 14th start pitocin. So I was curious what happens if the cervadil doesn't do anything for your cervix.

I was given pitocin and the more you contract it causes you to dilate and open up. Cervadil didnt do anything for me be honest but everyone different , it worked great for my friend. Pitocin is just hard on your body , IMO because regular contractions dont hurt as bad as the ones you get from having pitocin. But yes if the cervadil doesnt work most doctors use pitocin as the next step.

Yeah I heard that pitocin gives you much worse contractions then your body making the contractions itself. Okay that sounds alright I was scared that if the cervadil didn't work they would just go to a c section or something. Ugh I am not dilataed or effaced at all I was hoping maybe a little but nothing.
