re: Does God plan how our lives will be?

I'm a Catholic but not much of one if you ask me---I should be going to Church every sunday and on special holidays but I don't. I do believe in God and im close to God in my own way if that even makes sense. I believe that he has his plan for me. But ultimatley, I make my own decisions and make my own path in life. Not sure if that helps lol.

It might seem to make no sense yet we are here doing it.

I strongly believe in God but I think we always have choices and our choices determine our future.

We are here, but what we are doing is up for debate. By simply stating that we exist, therefore god does too is not proof in any way.

I think we are naturally occurring organisms that can be explained by science, and with our generous brain size, the god delusion has crept in out of the necessity for "more".

I am reading a book on the role of genetics and a belief in a higher power. It turns out that there is indeed a "god gene". There is good evolutionary reason for the whole god idea, namely keep rule and social coherence. It still plays an important role today.

I clearly don't have this gene despite growing up in a strict but loving religious home. Would that set me up for punishment? And at times, willing "take me and reel me in, god!" Person... (it didnt happen:... and hint: I'm not a bad person). My conclusion is that god truly is a delusion. Does it make me sad? Hell no. It is comforting to know some "one" isn't trying to screw with my mind/life/existence. I am what I am.
