Stick to your principals, mama! They told me the same thimg 5 years and 5 kids ago   have yet to hit a single one of them!

Agreed timeouts are not only for kids if an adult is at their wit ends and feeling the urge to hit it's time to take a time out yourself. Place your child in a safe space and take a 5 to 10 minuet breather it's best for you and best for the child.

Plus by showing your child you to get upset to they realize their feelings are ok and by showing them a positive way of dealing with your feelings it enforces positive ways for them to deal with theirs.

I really like your way of putting that. I always get a hard time for not spanking and it's hard to get people to see why I prefer to discipline the way I do. But that's a really good way of putting it.
