re: Guilt and child support

No, one child!! She's still an infant. They just split up a few months ago, and she filed for divorce first.

The only thing I can think of is the child support is including the house payment. I really have no idea why he's paying so much.

Yeah my lawyer told me she thought it was bullsmurf too..I had stopped at that point...that was when he was giving me backpay...before we ended up going to court, I tried several times to work out a financial agreement that didn't abide by the 17% of income figure, but he wasn't willing to have a humane conversation. Shrugs...I need to get over it.

If the ex wife has no income at all and she's living in the house, he's probably required to pay alimony and child support that keeps her in the lifestyle that she's become accustomed to.

I don't think so either. I mean, obviously he should pay child support, but he needs enough left over to make his car payment, rent, and what not. I don't think his wife was working when she filed, if that makes a difference.

Really? Continuing to have children with a bunch of different men was best for your kids? How is that providing a stable, healthy environment for them? And having sex with two different guys around the time of conception of this last one? Yeah because your kids REALLY need that kind of crap going on in their childhoods.

A lot of women feel guilty for this kind of thing...those are the women who never bring their baby daddy's to court..I feel sorry for him and thought that if I didn't NEED the money those few times I cut him a check, that I was doing the "right thing"...maybe it was a weak minded move on my part because I caved to his games...but really? You barge into a post where someone is bearing their soul on something that is bothering them and you resort to name calling? And you're a mother to six children? That is as frightening as is my guilt, stupid.

I don't know. I've never heard that? But I'm also no expert on divorces. I worked for a divorce lawyer for like 4 months. And I just know at least while the divorce is in process, the husband (in most cases it's wifey who has no job) is responsible for continuing to pay the house payment and all the bills there even though he doesn't live there anymore AND he has to pay child support if there are kids involved.

One lady we had as a client was getting 10k a month in alimony and CS and was still bitching that she couldn't afford a carton of milk for her kids.
